Road (Truck):
- Most flexible — door-to-door delivery to any address
- FTL: ~$2–4/mile (US), best for high-volume, regular lanes
- LTL: shared capacity, longer transit, but cost-effective for <10,000 lb shipments
- Short-haul (<500 miles): typically faster than rail or intermodal
Rail:
